The first micropub to be opened in Lincolnshire. The pub building has quite a history and is believed to be 800 years old and was originally the prison of the local Priory. Its more recent use was as a bakery. As well as the ground floor bar with its domed ceiling, a stone spiral staircase leads up to a comfortable lounge room.
Real ale and conversation were in short supply in the area which inspired the owners to extend their exisiting microbrewing activities into a micropub.

An excellent addition to Spalding which was suffering from bland mega brewery beers the only drawback being they allow mobile phone calls

I got served a heavily oxidised beer that had clearly been tapped some time ago. It was undrinkable due to the off flavours and i was not refunded. I have rated this micro pub one star because there wasnt a zero star rating. This is a good example of why breweries switched to Kegs. This pub will convert any die hard CAMRA member to fizzy mega bland pasteurised beers.

What a gem :) great variety of ales on with some choice of crafty ciders too. Fabulous atmosphere where although you may have wandered in alone it feels like you are leaving with friends. Nothing an issue for the barman who was really friendly. Friendly local brewers
